In the end, I had to take up smoking again to drop all the weight.

This comic took a whole month from start to finish. Between the drawing and the scanning I started smoking again, and had to stop working on it. It was two or three weeks until I could look at the drawings without feeling like a chump.

I’ve since settled for the more realistic goal of trying to smoke more.

Pointing out stars and constellations to your date will get you laid. Unfortunately, if you’re the type of person who feels compelled to commit stuff like this to memory, you probably have a hard time finding dates.

Actually, this is pretty much how I envision any marriage that might be in my future. Bickering, deception, revenge, ejaculating into a sock…it’s all there.

The original draft for this one had the Author writing out his last overinflated blog post and then going on another nature hike with the new girl. But that wouldn’t have been much fun at all.

I think I’m with the Girl on this one.

A few months after this I outlined a plot and scripted out the first several pages of an 8 Easy Bits spin-off about the Author and the new girl’s adventures in the Nevada desert. (Tentative title: “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Burning Man.”) Unfortunately, I’m not up to the task of drawing it, and there aren’t many decent artists in my price range (read: willing to work for free). C’est la vie.
